Middlemore is the largest hospital operated by Counties Manukau Health.  We offer secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population of Counties Manukau - the area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato.

We also provide niche specialist tertiary services for regional and national consumers in orthopaedic and plastic surgery, burns, spinal injury rehabilitation, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care. All Counties Manukau Health facilities are smoke-free.

Visitors Guide

The move to Alert Level 1 at 11:59pm on Wednesday, 7 October has meant our visiting policy can be relaxed slightly, however CM Health will continue to limit visitors and public health measures are still required.

As of Thursday, 8 October visiting hours will be between 2pm and 8pm with no more than two people permitted per patient at one time.

A key support person can visit between 8am and 8pm or at all times by arrangement for compassionate reasons - please check with the charge nurse on the ward your whaanau are on.

Visitors including repeat visitors, outpatients and their support person will continue to be screened, using questions based on current COVID-19 case definition, and registered to enable contact tracing prior to entering the site. Click here for more information.

If you are unwell, you must stay at home.

These restrictions apply to all hospitals and outpatient facilities.
