NETP 2021 Cohort
Building Your Career – Counties Manukau Health is committed to making our graduate nurses feel supported. Our senior nurses and preceptors have all been where you are. They know the organisation inside out and understand the challenges and opportunities.
The support offered on our programmes allows you to focus on integrating into the nursing profession from a student to a Registered Nurse. You will be offered new clinical experiences in a supportive environment that will grow your confidence, knowledge, skills, and career.
Within the DHB settings:
Community settings:
Counties Manukau Health has two NETP intakes each year in January and September. If nursing vacancies allow, there could also be a May intake which will be communicated via the ACE website.
The exact number of positions in the NETP Programme is dependent on vacancies across the organisation therefore we cannot predict the exact numbers for the intake. We estimate that there will be 50 positions available in the September 2022 intake and these positions will be across the range of practice settings on offer via ACE Nursing.
Our NETP programme supports new graduate nurses across Counties Manukau Health and extends to those employed in community settings such as GP practices, Primary Health Organisations, and Aged Residential Care facilities. Click here (PDF, 885 KB) to read the full outline of the NETP programme.
At Counties Manukau Health we are committed to making graduate nurses feel supported. The NETP team includes a Nurse Coordinator, Nurse Educator and four Clinical Coaches who work closely with the senior nursing staff in all clinical areas to support the graduate nurse throughout the duration of their first year of practice.
Each graduate nurse will also be assigned a preceptor(s) who has completed an approved training programme. Preceptors and other members of the clinical team, work alongside graduate nurses to enhance clinical skill and knowledge, as well as support goal setting and opportunities for reflective practice.
Placements on NETP within Counties Manukau Health will be identified and determined as part of the ACE (Advanced Choice of Employment) National Recruitment Process. Further information regarding ACE is available at https://nursing.acenz.net.nz/
Our recruitment process includes “Assessment Centres” which involve a two-step process:
Assessment Centres are generally scheduled to take place over a number of weeks approximately two weeks after the ACE application rounds close in April and September.
If you change your contact details once you have submitted your application, please email us directly so that we know how to get in contact with you.
Positions offered at Counties Manukau Health are permanent offers of employment to the organisation. The clinical area of employment may be subject to change following NETP year dependant on clinical need.
Offers of employment will be sent out via email after the ACE notification process is complete.
Note: Offers of employment in Aged Residential Care or Primary Care may be either fixed term or permanent offers.
