The following people within our Counties Manukau community will soon receive invitations to be vaccinated:
- Older Maaori and Pacific people being cared for by whaanau, the people they live with, and their carers.
- Those that live in South Auckland and are aged 65 and over.
People in these groups who are enrolled with a family doctor will receive a text or email (from NMF Immunisation Bookings) inviting them to book a vaccination appointment.
Some people may receive a booking invitation email from their family doctor (GP).
Don’t worry if you don’t receive an invitation straight away - these will be sent out in groups so it may take a couple of weeks for an invitation to be sent to everyone.
It is important that you wait for your invitation and if you are not enrolled with a family doctor, now would be a good time to get enrolled – you can find one in your area through Healthpoint.
Booking your appointment
Instructions on how to book your vaccination appointment are included in the invitation.
You can book at a place, time, and date that is most convenient for you.
Once you have received your invitation and you find you need a hand booking your appointment you can call the vaccination helpline on 0800 28 29 26 between the hours of 8:00am - 8:00pm, 7 days a week.
Family and Carers
If you are bringing an older person to be vaccinated, you can book in the family bubble (the people who live with them and take care of them) to be vaccinated at the same time.
This means one trip and you can do it together – you just have to book in.
There’s enough vaccine for everyone – and it’s FREE
Everyone over the age of 16 who wants to be vaccinated will be vaccinated.
You don’t have to be a resident or a citizen to receive the vaccine.
Most importantly the vaccine is FREE.
