High Praise for Middlemore Diabetes nurse

Clinical Nurse Specialist Elham Hajje has always been a favourite with her diabetes patients.

The Lebanese-born nurse and her family have been in New Zealand for 25 years.

Elham has a Bachelor of Health Science and she fills a vital role at Middlemore.

Some recent patient feedback shows just how dedicated Elham has been in her role.

Sandy told us her dad, Shiu Ram Chaudhry, was given exceptional care by Elham during his battle with diabetes.

“Your dedication and care as a nurse have made an incredible impact on both of our lives.

“From the very beginning, you went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. You were always ready and willing to work around our schedules, ensuring that we could find appointment times that suited us best. Your flexibility and understanding were truly remarkable.”

Sadly, Shiu passed away, but his daughter expressed her deepest appreciation for Elham’s care of her dad, saying she had left an indelible mark on the family’s hearts.

Elham says she was humbled by the recent Local Heroes award for her work and says she simply loves her mahi and her patients.

“It’s all about holistic care, and I especially enjoy mentoring MIT student nurses.”
