As part of marking International Nurses Day, May 12 at Counties Manukau we’d like to introduce another of our dedicated RN’s.
Sharon Aumatangi is a relatively recent arrival at Counties and has a job she loves as a district nurse, based out of our busy Otara Community Health HQ.
Sharon told us her role is varied and complex – keeping a close eye on those patients who receive care in their own homes.
“I look after all sorts of needs, like changing wound dressings, pressure injury management, dealing with continence issues – so many things we can help with.
“I love to see our patients make the journey back to complete wellness – it’s extremely satisfying.”
Although she’s quite new to Counties, Sharon already has her sights set high – she would like to do the intensive study required to become a nurse practitioner.
We’re so proud of all the great mahi nurses like Sharon perform in our community.
