Kelly’s journey – from near death to success
Twelve years ago, at the tender age of 21, Kelly came close to death, crashing her car not far from Middlemore Hospital. Kelly was taken by ambulance to Middlemore Hospital’s Emergency Department. She was put into a coma and spent a total of eight weeks in ICU.
Middlemore's Kidz First Hospital welcomes vaccine trial results
Middlemore’s Kidz First Hospital is welcoming the results of a vaccine trial which shows great promise for fighting RSV - otherwise known as Respiratory Syncytial Virus. The trial, involving pregnant mothers, was conducted at Aotearoa Clinical Trials based at Middlemore, and was part of an international effort.

Counties Manukau named Climate Champion
Counties Manukau has been named a global Climate Champion by Health Care Without Harm, receiving the Silver award for Climate Leadership in recognition for our efforts to assess climate change risks and reduce carbon emissions.
Knitting a community together
The Middlemore Foundation Wool Programme has been going for 23 years, with over 2,000 dedicated knitters nationwide lending their knitting skills to the Counties Manukau community. Knitters donate beautifully knitted booties, hats, mittens, vests and blankets to keep premature babies and newborns in the hospital and the community warm.
